My Top 5 Beauty Favourites of 2017

2017 has been a great year for beauty and one where I have tried and tested many products from different brands. As we are a few days away from entering 2018 I thought I’d dedicate my first (proper) blog post to my Top 5 Beauty Favourites from this year. I must admit it wasn’t the easiest to narrow it down to 5 but I would have to say these are beauty must haves from me! These are in no particular order…

Shade and light palette – Kat Von D

This is a great contour kit for everyone. It comes with six matte shades that are arranged by undertones which provide; neutral , warm and cool shades making it a great palette for everyone. The shades in the palette are extremely versatile as I’m able to create subtle, everyday looks and more of a glam look for the evening. I have also found that the shades can double up as eyeshadows making it adaptable (remember make up has no rules!)

As mine is nearly finished I will definitely be re-purchashing. Kat Von D is a brand I will be trying more of in the new year!

2. Modern Renaissance Palette – Anastasia Beverly Hills

Wow! This has to be my all time favourite palette I’ve ever purchased. The shades are beautiful and mostly consist of warmer tones which I tend to love as they bring out the blue in my eyes. This being said, the palette works extremely well for all eye colours. With a mixture of matte and shimmer shades it’s the perfect palette to have in your makeup draw. If you haven’t tried this already then I recommend you do!

3. Filmstar Bronze and Glow – Charlotte Tilbury

Again, this is another product that many people rave about and it’s for good reason. Mine is practically empty now as I have used it so much (I never finish products!) I find this is the perfect highlight for everyday wear as it isn’t too much and it gives more of a subtle, natural glow which is what I tend to reach for during the day.

4. Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado – Kiehl’s

Ever since I got bought this for my birthday in May I’ve repurchased it twice. It really has worked wonders for my under eye and has made applying makeup a lot easier as I never really seem to get creasing or any dryness anymore. Long gone are dull, dehydrated eyes as this brightens and moisturises perfectly. A definite must have from me!

5. Roller Lash Mascara – Benefit

Last but no least is the Roller Lash mascara by Benefit. This is amazing as it gives length, volume and curl to your lashes which is exactly what I want in a mascara. This mascara is a winner for me as it does not transfer onto my eyelids like many others I’ve tried. However, it can prove quite tricky to take off due to its long wearing formula. To add extra volume to your lashes try using lash curlers before the mascara.

Let me know your top 5 favs of the year in the comments!

Love,

Becky xo

  1. New follower, here! I just popped in to say that the Modern Renaissance palette is a staple for me! I got it earlier in the year and have used it more than any other palette I’ve had all year. And I very recently got the Shade & Light palette for Christmas, after my best friend found the old packaging at TJ Maxx! I’ve been wanting it for so long but I have a Too Faced contour palette that I’ve been trying to use up first. Although I haven’t had it for very long, I’m already grabbing for it every single time I do my makeup!! Anyway, I’m lovin’ your blog so far! 🙂

    • Ah thank you so much! I haven’t tried the too faced one but I have a few other products from them and love the brand! Me too I just love he colours in the modern renaissance palette! Another one I got for Christmas was the huda beauty warm brown obsessions which is amazing and only £25! Check it out! Glad you’re liking it. I’m happy I’ve finally started it! 😁 x
